Ancient Egyptian Paintings

Art forms were done by the regularity and detailed portrayal of gods, humans, heroic battles and nature as they were intended to provide comfort to the dead in the afterlife. The ancient Egyptian art was done using different mediums like papyrus drawings  and pictographs and included impressions and 3d sculptures in the wall as a relief in the walls.

Colours were used for expression.
Red skin was used to show youth while yellow skin was used for women or middle aged men. Blue or gold identified divinity due to its unnatural appearance and black was used for royal figures as it symbolised the fertility of the nile.

Egyptian paintings are one to show the profile view and side view of the animal or person.

Most paintings were done on flat surface, and if the texture was rough they would put a layer of mud covering with a paintable material on top usually having elements of limestone. The minerals they used to paint with were needed to be able to endure sunlight without fading.
The extremely dry climate helped let the paintings survive due to the lack of rain so they wouldn’t have worn away.
The paintings were made for the deceased. Sort of like a “this is what u missed ooonnnn ANCIENT EGYPT”.
They thought that the dead would need the information for the afterlife like how to reach the gods from thereof the afterlife or the underworld.

Not just leaving knowledge but treasures too
